problems with power plug on fujitsu lifebook ah531 model?this fix might be yours solution too. running on battery even with the power plug connected first of all put a blanket or a towel on your desk. donĂ¢€™t do like i did. you don't want to scratch your glossy laptop. removing the batery with the tab pushed, remove the battery torx screwdriver. i don't know exactly what size, but it's one of the smallest i worked with. there are only this three screws with torx head this six screws hold the power button/speaker cover
the "heart's" cover 6 screws use a flathead screwdriver to remove the cover use it with care remove the optical unit pull the unit out remove the hdd cover slide the hdd don't even think to pull it up first
just slide it this two tabs fix the hdd when the cover it's secured in place now, the motherboard cover 8 screws remove this two also this two are shorter than the rest (4 mm). don't forget this. remove power button/speaker cover lift the keyboard and flip it upside down use a pointy tool to unlock the keyboard ribbon lock
do not pull the ribbon without unlocking it first. you may damage it unlock and pull out the touchpad ribbon pull out the display connector unlock and pull out this ribbon too don't rush to unscrew the hinges. first you need to disconnect the antenna wires remove the antenna wires unclip the antenna connectors note down or keep in mind color position (even gray and black aren't really colors) it's almost time to remove the display but first you need to unscrew the hinges
hinge detail 3 screws if you didn't noticed yet, all the screws dimensions are marked on the housing remember this shorter one too (4 mm) remove speaker connector if you didn't already did it check for screws or any metallic parts on the speakers magnets. i had surprises. and here we are remove the power connector from the motherboard it's time to move to the soldering station
this part is also available online, but why waste money. here is the problem i saw this type of failure at several laptops (same model), so i believe it is a kind of a factory fault the power socket have two little tabs on each side with corresponding slots on the laptop housing insert the connector with the black dot up you can add a little drop of hot glue on top of the power socket you should know though that the socket can be hot enough to melt the hot glue speakers touchpad insert the ribbon with the lock lever up and pop down the lever when you are sure that the ribbon is in it's place
same with this ribbon put back all eight screws. remember the short one (4 mm) damn it. he forget me it's a good moment to make some memory upgrades if you need to insert the two metallic pins from the hinges into the laptop chasis this two screws are also responsable for the wobbly display. screw them tight and if you have, add some thread lock fluid. put back in place the antenna wires insert the display connector. connect the antennas to the initial position
connect the keyboard ribbon pop back the power button/speaker cover insert here the two short(4mm) remaining screws insert the hdd put the cover back and check it all around. i noticed this two days later six screws for the power button/speaker cover optical unit back cover
three torx screws from the battery compartment
